Sales has pre-sold Woody Allen's "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger" to much of the world. Banner pacts on the pic, which shot last summer in London, include Medusa for Italy and Concorde for Germany. Sony Pictures Classics took North America in a deal revealed last week. Warner Bros. Entertainment France has all Gallic rights. Now being edited in New York, "Stranger" stars Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Gemma Jones, Freida Pinto, Lucy Punch and Naomi Watts. Among the new sales, Sun Distribution has taken Latin America, Central Partnership has the CIS countries, Scanbox will release in Scandinavia, Paradiso in Benelux, Kino Swiat in Poland and Frenetic in Switzerland. "Stranger" has also been sold to Portugal, Israel, Middle East, the former Yugoslavia, Czech Republic, Romania, South Africa, Hong Kong and Indonesia while Japan, the U.K., South Korea and Australia are under negotiation. "Stranger" is produced by Letty Aronson, Steve Tenenbaum and Jaumes Roures, and financed by Roures' Mediapro as the first in a three-pic production deal between Mediapro and Aronson's Gravier Prods. Spanish broadcaster Antena 3 co-produces and co-finances. Pic topped the French charts, cuming $15 million for distrib Warner Bros. Allen is now prepping a Paris-set summer shoot, which recently pulled down a Gallic tax rebate for international production.
