Page 1 of 9 SEPTEMBER 1, 2016 Introduction Academic partners active in the Siemens GO PLM program are eligible for five “Learning Advantage Academic Membership for Educators” (TG20000E). The intent of the five TG20000E memberships is to provide educators access to the training content and become familiar with the capabilities within Learning Advantage. Furthermore, academic partners with TG20000E are also able to provide free access to their students to “Learning Advantage Enterprise Academic Gold Membership” (TG22000). The memberships include a corporate account, which enables educators to monitor their student’s learning progress. Siemens Product Lifecycle Management Software Inc. Learning Advantage is a convenient, easy to use e-Learning portal that enables users to gain skills and knowledge in Siemens PLM Software products. Learning Advantage contains a library of self-paced courses and assessments that are updated whenever new PLM software versions are released so that users may remain current with the latest information. TG20000E is equivalent to a corporate gold membership (TG30000) but is exclusive to eligible academic partners. Educators will use them to get acquainted with material within Learning Advantage to be able to provide guidance to their students. The memberships remain active as long as the academic institution remains active in the GO PLM academic program. The corporate account includes tools to manage users and monitor their learning progress. What is a Learning Advantage TG22000 membership? TG22000 compliments TG20000E and is free to students who are enrolled at your academic institution. Students are able to self-register for TG22000 and it is also equivalent to a gold membership. How do TG20000E & TG22000 compare? Intended Audience Faculty Membership Distribution Process A Learning Advantage corporate administrator manually assigns a TG20000E membership to a faculty member. Term limit Remains active as long as the academic institution remains active within the Go PLM Academic Partner program. Users must have an active email with the academic institution. Students Faculty Assistants Faculty (beyond 5 TG20000E) A student is able to self-register for their TG22000 membership which reduces administrative effort to distribute them. Students must verify their email account every 6months with a maximum term of 4 years. (1) Note: TG22000 will not be listed on your maintenance, enhancement, and software configuration, but it will be added to your Learning Advantage corporate account. The status of TG22000 is associated to the status of TG20000E, so if TG20000E expires then TG22000 will also expire. Siemens Product Lifecycle Management Software Inc. Product TG20000E will be included on their maintenance, enhancement, and software configuration. How will an eligible academic partner redeem their TG20000E and TG22000 memberships? To redeem your memberships, you will need a valid WebKey account and a Sold-To ID. Your WebKey account verifies your school’s eligibility. The redemption process includes defining an administrator and your academic institution’s email address. Your administrator will receive an email with login instructions to your Learning Advantage corporate account and it will include both the 5 TG20000E faculty memberships and the unlimited TG22000 student memberships. View the detailed self-redemption procedures in the next section of the document. How will a student obtain their Learning Advantage membership? Students who have an eligible and active email at their academic institution are able to self-register for TG22000. The self-registration instructions are included within your Learning Advantage corporate account. The administrator can export a PDF and distribute it to the students. View how an administrator can provide the TG22000 self-registration instructions to their students in the last section of the document. How is the eligible email defined? Your corporate administrator defines the eligible email address during the TG20000E redemption process. Can an Academic Institution change the email used to determine eligibility for TG22000? Yes, your corporate administrator has the ability to modify the email which defines eligibility for TG22000, however, students who currently have TG22000 may lose their access if their email doesn’t match the change. Your administrator may configure the TG22000 membership within Memberships Details section of Corporate Account Administration. Is there a cost to obtain TG2000E or TG22000 memberships? No. Both TG20000E and TG22000 memberships are free to eligible academic institutions and their students. Is there a limit how many students can access the TG22000 membership? No. All students who are enrolled at the academic institution are eligible to obtain TG22000. Is there a maximum term for accessing the TG22000 membership? Yes. The maximum term for accessing TG22000 membership is 4 years. Can a student who already has a Learning Advantage account self-register for TG22000? Yes. There will be special instructions on the self-registration page for users who already have a Learning Advantage account. Are there conditions for the student to retain TG22000 membership access? Yes. Students must verify their Learning Advantage account email every six months to retain access to their TG22000 membership. This is a very simple process requiring an active email address. Can a corporate administrator remove a student’s TG22000 membership? Yes, your corporate administrator may remove the student’s membership as well as change their account status. Yes, your corporate administrator may remove a student from their Learning Advantage corporate account. The student will retain their Learning Advantage account as well as their transcript but will no longer have access to their TG22000 membership. Can a student be added to a group when they self-register for TG22000? Yes, your corporate administrator can assign a group that the student will automatically be associated with when they self-register for TG22000. Does a student have to repeat the self-registration process each year? No, a student only has to self-register for their TG22000 membership one time. Afterwards they will periodically verify their Learning Advantage account email to retain access to their membership. Who should I contact if I have additional questions? Academic institution representative logs into a WebKey protected site. http://training.plm.automation.siemens.com/mytraining/edu/index.cfm Login process checks their Sold-To ID for TG20000E and lists the quantity of memberships they qualify for. Academic institution representative will redeem the memberships and designate an administrator (either themselves or someone else) to manage their users accounts. The Designated Administrator will receive an email with the option to “Agree” or “Decline” their role as the Administrator. Siemens Product Lifecycle Management Software Inc. They can then access Learning Advantage and add faculty and provide them a membership. The following graphic shows how to add a user and provide them a membership.
