Showing hidden formatting marks
Why show formatting?
Word stores lots of hidden formatting marks such as space, tab and paragraph marks. When
adjusting the formatting of a document, showing these marks can make things easier.
Showing hidden marks
To show or hide marks click on the Home menu and
click on the show/hide button. Marks do not print
on paper unless you turn this on in the Print page
settings

Space
Tab
Paragraph (return)
Page Break
Section breaks
Column break
Line break
Object anchors
End of table cell
Always showing formatting marks
To always see formatting marks click on the File
menu and then Word Options.
On the display tab are options to show different
marks.
