Utilizing accuracy and precision of our Pyro-chemiluminescent™ technology, the 7090NS Nitrogen/
Sulfur GC Detector delivers equimolar response for all nitrogen- and sulfur-containing compounds.
Chemiluminescence is the clean, fast, interference-free method for determining all bound nitrogen and
sulfur in a variety of matrices.
R-S + R-N + O2 —> SO2 + NO + other oxides
R-S + R-N + H2 —> H2S + NO + other reduced species
H2S + O3 —> SO2* —> SO2 + hυ (200–400 nm)
NO + O3 —> NO2* —> NO2 + hυ’ (600–900 nm)

7090’s versatility, users can buy one detector now—
nitrogen or sulfur—and add the other later.
The Model 7090N Chemiluminescent Nitrogen Detector is specific for nitrogen compounds and easily
converts to nitrosamine-selective mode with out any
hardware change. The Model 7090S Sulfur Chemiluminescent Detector is specific for sulfur compounds.
Our Model 7090NS offers unprecedented simultaneous detection of nitrogen and sulfur compounds.
Conventional element enhanced detectors are less
selective and therefore still have problems with
interfering compounds. The 7090 Series eliminates
those problems by detectingnitrogen and/or sulfur
compounds only—without halogen,phosphorous, or
hyrocarbon interferences that have complicated this
work in the past. This unique detector also gives a
linear response, and has sensitivity that is stable over
time, providing more reliable results.
