In the picture above, Mr. Applegate is showing the students proper demonstration of welding. He is explaining and
demonstrating to them the procedure of welding and the safety of always wearing the correct attire while welding.
In this picture Mr. Applegate is speaking to the students about welding safety and what could come about of a situation
if proper welding safety precautions and measures were not taken.
The picture above is of KWI instructor Ashley Applegate presenting to the classes of Mr. Hammons and Mr. Howard.
Mr. Applegate was discussing and informing the class on the career of welding. He informed the students on the
opportunities that they offer at the KWI facility. He let them know what skills and career opportunities that they could
pursue if they decided to go into the field of welding and what other advantages they could have with a welding degree
from KWI. Mr. Applegate also explained and showed to the classes how things run at KWI and how they could become a
student there.

In the picture above, Mr. Steve Jacobs from the Natural Resources Conservation Services in Maysville, Kentucky is
showing the students in Mr. Hammons’ Principles of Agriscience class the different soil samples and explaining what
types of soil they are and what can be found inside of them. Mr. Jacobs also spoke with students and explained to them
how to judge land and the concept of land judging. He also discussed with the students the land capability uses and
conservation measures and limitations.
In the picture above, Mr. Paul Howell and Ms. Emily Anderson from the Natural Resources Conservation Services in
Lexington, Kentucky and Mount Sterling, Kentucky are discussing with the students in Mr. Hammons’ Principles of
Agriscience class the types of soil that you will find around the Kentucky areas and talked to them about geology. They
also spoke with the students and showed them on the maps they brought along with them the geologic hazards in
Kentucky and the landforms of the continental United States.
