Upcoming Events The Mayan Ball Game The students in Mr. Barnes 5th grade class have been studying ancient cultures of North and South America. As part of their studies the students have focused on what these civilizations do for recreation. The Mayan culture had a sport called The Mayan Ball Game. The students tried to play the game which uses only feet, and found that it required a lot of skill. They had fun even though it was tougher than they expected. VikingFest 2016 Mark your calendars: February 20, 2016, 10-3, Miami East Elementary/Junior High Building. VikingFest 2016 will feature baking contests with prizes, silent auction, Little Miss and Mister VikingFest contest, ME student art displays, free stage entertainment, Busy Bouncing Inflatables, cake walks, carnival games, food, and much more. This is the only fund-raiser sponsored by the Miami East Education Foundation. All proceeds benefit Miami East students. Miami East Gives Back Miami County Children’s Services was very appreciative of all the hats, scarves, gloves and socks that were donated by Miami East Students during the holiday season. Mrs. Dillon coordinated the collecting efforts and was impressed with the amount of clothing that was donated. As you can see from the picture, the Miami East family went above and beyond to make the holidays a little warmer for those in need.
