Project Pathogen Wanted Poster tech

NAME: _______________________ DATE: ____________ BLOCK: _____
Background Information:
A pathogen is something that causes disease. Pathogens can be bacterial, viral, protist, or
fungus. You will research one bacterial or viral pathogen and produce a "Wanted Poster."
Student Requirements:
You will select a pathogen (virus or bacteria) from the approved list. You may research a
pathogen not listed only if it is approved by your teacher. You will then produce a wanted
poster with the given elements.
Project Description/Abstract:
The Wanted Poster is to be on white, 8.5" x 11" paper. Your wanted poster must include the
information/sections described in the rubric. The rubric also shows the point value for each
section.
Procedure:
You will have approximately two blocks to research your chosen disease and make your
poster. Anything not finished in that time, must be completed outside of class.
Evaluation:
Students are graded by the specific criteria (see rubric). Students must list the sources they
used to find information for this project. Students must use a minimum of 2 sources of
information.
HINTS:
Use PowerPoint or word and create one slide or page for your poster. Your teacher can show
you how to make it print like a single, portrait page.
Your poster should differentiate between the pathogen and the disease that is caused by it.
For example, the wanted poster would be for the Rhinovirus…not the common cold. As an
example, a poster may be titled:
Wanted: Rhinovirus
Causes the common cold

4. Who does the disease affect most commonly? For example, some diseases affect mostly
children.
5. In what part of the world or what part of the human body does the pathogen live?

or USA statistics.
9. What medicines are used to treat/cure/prevent the disease?
