FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CASTLETON CRACKERS DEBUTS NEW FLAVORS
AND NEW PACKAGING
MARCH 28, 2013; SOUTH WOODSTOCK, VT – Today, Vermont Farmstead Cheese Company
(VFCC) and artisan cracker division Castleton Crackers, is proud to introduce two new
Castleton Cracker flavors and the newly-designed box packaging for the entire line.
The two new cracker flavors are the happy result of the recent partnership between Vermont
Farmstead Cheese Company and Castleton Crackers. Governor’s Cheddar is made using
VFCC’s Governor’s Cheddar, a recent American Cheese Society award winner. Alehouse
Cheddar uses VFCC Artisan Cheddar and local artisan ale along with horseradish mustard.
“Both flavors are proving very popular as we’ve introduced them at tasting events and Farmer’s
Markets, “ according to Castleton Crackers Founder, Whitney Lamy, Additional cracker flavors
are also on the horizon including an expanded line of graham crackers.
The new packaging design updates the Castleton Cracker’s signature kraft bag to a box with
more color and information, while still keeping the window. “Changing our packaging from a
bag to a box makes us much more attractive to retailers who are limited by traditional shelving”,
said Lamy. “More durable, sturdy packaging also will cut down on the crackers being broken or
crushed before they get into the hands of our customers.”
