RPSBSWA BRANCH PRESENTS Young Stock Show of the Year 2017 Judge: Lia Blacket (SA) Sunday 14th May 2017 Riverside Riding Club Palomino Place, Champion Lakes Start 8.00am 2017 WESTERN AUSTRALIAN STATE RIDING PONY SHOW CONDITIONS OF ENTRY SHOWING RULES & REGULATIONS FOR ALL RPSBS LTD CLASSES Reviewed 7th December 2014 All RPSBS registered ponies or horses must be shown in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Riding Pony Stud Book Society Ltd. These Showing Rules and Regulations can only be enforced in classes run under RPSBS Ltd Rules and Regulations A Show Season is State specific; please refer to your State Secretary or website. Pending memberships, registrations and transfers do not constitute eligibility for an exhibit to be shown in RPSBS classes. In any one show season a pony 4 years and over may be exhibited at RPSBS Ltd Shows as a Show Pony or Show Hunter Pony, but not as both. Show Ponies and Show Hunter Ponies can only compete against each other in Supreme, Newcomer, Leading Rein, First Ridden Class or Children’s Ridden Class. Youngstock 3 years & under may change once only per 'State Show Season' from Show Pony to Show Hunter or Show Hunter to Show Pony. Foals/Weanlings must only be shown in a halter or head collar. No Foal/Weanling under the age of twelve months as of the 1st August can be shown in a bit. Stallions and Colts over 1 year on 1st August must be bitted when shown. Handlers and riders of stallions or colts must be 18 years of age or over. Stallions and Colts two years and over must be entire, with two visible descended testicles, except where a stallion has had one testicle surgically removed and has an appropriate veterinary certificate which has been submitted to the Registrar and recorded prior to a Show. The ground jury, ringmaster, judge or ring steward is able to remove a pony from competing that is deemed a danger to the handler, rider, competition or general public. RPSBS Ltd heat policy applies; check details on website Membership Requirements: 1. All owners/exhibitors must be current financial members of the Riding Pony Stud Book Society Ltd. 2. All exhibits must be shown in the name of the registered owner/lessee (bona fide owner). This means that an exhibit must be in the name of the last recorded owner/lessee exactly as it appears on the exhibit’s Riding Pony Stud Book Society Ltd. Registration Certificate. When entered in multiple names one of the listed exhibitors for each pony entered in Riding Pony classes must be a current financial member of RPSBS and must be the owner/lessee of the pony entered. The named exhibitor may be a family member of the registered owner. 3. Current membership cards must be produced upon request at any show. Registration Requirements: 4. Pending memberships, registrations and transfers do not constitute eligibility for an exhibit to be shown in RPSBS classes. Branding/Microchipping 5. All ponies must be visibly branded and/or microchipped when shown, excluding foals shown whilst on their dam. Registered Name of Pony 6. No Riding Pony Award will be awarded to any pony unless shown under the Registered Riding Pony name. Height of Ponies: 7. No exhibit, which exceeds in height 14.2hh, is eligible to be shown in RPSBS Show Pony or Show Hunter Pony classes. No Youngstock exhibit is eligible to be shown in Riding Pony classes if it exceeds in height: 13.3 hh at 1 year 14.0 hh at 2 years 14.1 hh at 3 years with 1/2inch to be added for shows in the period from 1 February to 31 July. 8. All ponies must have a current official height certificate or be subject to a day measurement. Life Certificates not accepted. Age of ponies : 9. No pony which is not adult registered shall be exhibited in a ridden class. 10. A pony’s age will be taken from August 1st annually. 11. No pony which is under the age of 3 years shall be exhibited in a ridden class. 12. All ponies four years and over must be adult registered. 13. All ponies under four years must be either adult registered or foal recorded. 14. Youngstock ponies will be 3 years and under. Presentation and Dress: 15. All ponies must have manes plaited and tail either pulled or plaited. 16. All ponies must be shown in good coat and condition. 17. All handlers and riders must be present themselves in correct attire relevant to the class being judged. 18 Spurs: The wearing of spurs in Leading Rein and First Ridden classes are not permissible. Riders disobeying this Rule will be disqualified from these classes. Spurs are permitted in all other ridden classes. 19. Hats: No rider will be covered by the Riding Pony Stud Book Society Ltd. Insurance if they are not wearing a safety approved helmet at all times when riding a pony. 20. Whips: Riders are not permitted to carry a whip in Leading Rein classes. Whips carried in other classes are not to exceed 75cms in length. Hunting Crops are permissible in Show Hunter and Working Hunter classes. 21. Tack: A narrow strap may be attached to the front of the saddle for children in Leading Rein and First Ridden classes. Under no circumstances may tack be changed during the judging of a class unless it is for safety purposes. (N.B. Whips and spurs are not considered tack). 22. Bridles: Leading Rein, First Ridden and 3 year old ridden exhibits shall be shown in a suitable snaffle bridle with a cavesson noseband. Any suitable snaffle or double bridle is optional in Show Pony or Show Hunter Pony classes. Any suitable bridle may be used in Working Hunter Pony classes, running martingales and any nosebands are permitted. 23. Leg Protection: Only protective leg boots of a plain colour may be used in the jumping phase of the Working Hunter pony classes. No other forms of leg or hoof protection are permissible in any other classes Standard Workouts: The standard workouts are recommended for all RPSBS ridden classes these can be found on the website www.rpsbs.com.au . Overheight Riding Ponies: From December 7 2014 Riding Ponies which have grown over 14.2hh and registered as Section A or who have a Section A Riding Pony parent will be eligible to compete in showing classes for Overheight Riding Ponies. These ponies will remain in the Riding Pony Stud Book. Overheight Mares and Geldings must only be shown as RPSBS Show Hacks or RPSBS Show Hunter Hacks and must not be shown in any RPSBS Show Pony or RPSBS Show Hunter Pony classes including any Championship or Supreme Championship. Overheight Youngstock are registered as Section A or who have a Section A parent that exceed the height limitation for their age as follows:1 year old over 13.3hh 2 year old over 14hh 3 year old over 14.1hh (with ½ inch to be added for shows in the period from 1 February to 31 July) Overheight Youngstock must be RPSBS Stud Book foal recorded or adult registered. Appendix Register: The Appendix Register will remain as a register of breeding stock only from recognised breeds that exceed 14.2hh. Horses registered in the Appendix Register will not have RPSBS showing rights.
