A few words of introduction
Good day to you all.
People often ask me
‘What is Aunt Martha’s all
about?
It is an easy question to ask
but a difficult one to answer
succinctly.
Is it the food, the gardens, the
tea-rooms, the staff?
In truth it is all of these, and perhaps more
as you, my guests, become part of the whole
experience.
Aunt Martha
Experience
Autumn 2016
As you can see recognition has come from many
quarters, but to me the most important of all is
yours
With kindest regards

Taking Afternoon Tea
Taking refreshment at Aunt
Martha’s Victorian Restaurant
is already an experience as you
are transported to the year
1897, the Diamond Jubilee of
Her Majesty Queen Victoria.
The Grand Tour
Building upon this success,
I now wish to be able to
transport my guests not only
in time, but in place with the
creation of THREE intimate
and exclusive dining areas.
The first - the Oriental Tea Pagoda - is already in place
thanks to the generosity of Mrs Williams whose portrait
normally adorns the room.
In my own small way I hope
that I am providing you with
the opportunity experience
the delights of taking tea in a
convivial environment.
My dining room can hold upto 32, while for those wishing
to dine ‘al fresco’ I have a number of tables where, subject
to the weather, this is possible
For those wishing to
entertain in a grand
manner, the dining room
can be transformed
The second will transport you
back in time and place to another
glorious empire, that of Ancient
Egypt, as you take refreshment
within the recreation of the
reception room of a temple. This
room will be highly decorated and
Professor Cruickshank has loaned
me some of his precious artefacts
with which to create a display.
The third will transport you to the
Jewel in the Crown of our glorious
British Empire - India.
Here you will be able to dine within a
recreated palace anti-room decorated
with Rajput and other styles of Indian
art
Do not be afraid of not liking the food, I have instructed
the kitchen staff to embrace the atmosphere of the location
within the presentation of the food, and only reflect the
flavours where they will not upset the palates of gentle folk,
like yourselves
Aunt Martha’s
Emporium
I am pleased to say that in
addition to, what I hope you will
agree, is a fine menu I do have
an attractive range of handmade
items for sale in my shop.
These items range from cushions, cards & candies to
scarves, soaps & shawls. Then there are the table
centre pieces and ‘Second Life’ wooden bowls, mushrooms and boards
Every item on sale is unique, so
for the ideal gift for a birthday,
Christmas or just because, consider
the offerings to be found in the
Emporium
You may also be interested to know
that gift vouchers can also be
purchased which given a little notice can be personalised to make a
very special birthday gift

Aunt Marth
Under the guidance of my cousin, Lady Atherton,
I am instigating, throughout the year, a series of soirees
Each evening will have a theme designed to both entertain

dress in one’s finery
I do hope that you will be able to join me at one of these
very special occasions
With kindest regards
Martha Treherne

therefore if you are interested then you

Seating will be allocated on a ‘first come, first
