Financial Aid Guidelines
Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska is committed to providing all girls and adults the opportunity to participate in the
Girl Scout leadership experience.
Section I – Applicant Information
All information regarding the girl or adult requesting the aid needs to be filled out entirely, including the full
five-digit troop number (if known). There must be an application for each girl and/or adult.
Section II – Total Annual Household Income (Pretax)
Total all annual income from wages, unemployment benefits, child support, social security, state aid and any
additional miscellaneous income. This should include income from all household members. Also, please explain
why aid is needed.
Section III – Girl Aid Request
• Annual Membership Registration: Aid may be requested up to $25 per girl.
• Uniform or Books: Aid may be requested for registered girls for a tunic or vest (Daisies only) or sash, troop
numbers, council ID and flag, or a Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting and a Journey book. If approved, the aid
can be used only in Spirit of Nebraska Juliette’s Boutique stores. The applicant will be responsible for any
shipping charges incurred. Refunds cannot be issued for uniform pieces or books already purchased.
• Programs: Aid may be requested for registered Girl Scout members for programs up to 50% of the
cost of camp, travel or program event. All deposits must be paid before financial aid will be processed.
A registration form and financial aid request must be received at least 4 weeks before the event to ensure
adequate time for processing.
Section IV – Adult and Troop Aid Request
• Annual Membership Registration: Aid may be requested up to $25 per adult. The adult must be a co-leader.
• Troop Dues: Troop dues may be requested for new troops at a one time maximum of $10 per girl. The girls’

member in the troop requesting aid.
• Leader Books: Aid may be requested for registered co-leaders of new troops only. One Girl’s Guide to
Girl Scouting for that troop’s grade level may be requested. The aid can only be used at Spirit of Nebraska
Juliette’s Boutique stores. The co-leader will be responsible for any shipping charges incurred. Refunds
cannot be issued for books already purchased.
Section V – Signatures
A parent or guardian must submit the application for girl requests and the co-leader must submit adult requests.
Applications can be found on our website GirlScoutsNebraska.org under Forms, or by calling 800.695.6690.
Applications which are not filled out completely and accurately, or with any missing documentation, will be
returned.
Financial aid will be based upon a combination of income, number in household, extenuating circumstances
and available funds. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing all requests.
Notification of Awards
An email will be sent to you once a determination has been made regarding your request for financial aid.
If awarded uniform or book assistance, visit any Juliette’s Boutique for redemption. Dues for new troops will be
attached to the troop’s bank account. If after three weeks you have not received notification of your award, you
may contact the council by phone at 800.695.6690 or email [email protected].
