skillfully molded and baked pieces ranging from vases, ornaments
and picture frames to paint and take home. For those interested
in other crafty creations, Free Spirit Pottery also hosts hot glass
fusing and canvas painting. If you’re looking for something different

Garden of the Coastal Plains
The Garden of the Coastal Plains, located just a few blocks
from Georgia Southern University’s campus, is an outdoor
treat for both residents and visitors to Statesboro alike. The
near 11-acre sanctuary hosts many indigenous and endangered
fauna species of the Southeast Georgia Plains, and the grounds
are actively inhabited by a number of bird species, woodland
mammals and butterflies. The property itself is centered on a
beautiful historic 20th century farmstead, Bland Cottage, which
has since been renovated into a visitor’s center. The Garden
of the Coastal Plains makes a great destination for a peaceful
romantic getaway in the very heart of Statesboro. A green
thumb is not a requirement to appreciate the serene sights,
sounds and smells of one of Statesboro’s best kept secrets.
