Conformity Verification Larry Russell – Manufacturing Inspector What is Conformity ? A complete, independent and documented physical and functional inspection process to verify that prescribed production methods have produced an acceptable item as specified by engineering drawings, engineering specifications, and manufacturing processess. Conformity Verification Conformity Verification – associated with a TC/STC Project to : make sure that products to be certified conform to an approved design, and ensures that the processes used to manufacture products under a TC/STC project are approved by CASA and comply with production requirements. Those processes in turn ensure manufacturing consistency and repeatability from TC/STC Project initiation until the issue of a production approval. Conformity Verification Process – TC/STC Initiation: Phase 1 – Step 1: Phase 1 ‐ Step 2: Go back to Phase 1 ‐ Step 1 After Phase 1 Initiate Production Approval : (move to an application for a Production Approval using the TC/STC data as “approved data”) or Continue production under conformity verification program (move to Phase 2 to approve the manufacture of products after the issue of the TC/STC until the issue of a Production Approval) Phase 2 : Phase 2 – Step 1: Phase 2 ‐ Step 2: Discussion
