Sherri Sutton-Johnson, RN, MSN
Ms. Sutton- Johnson currently supervises three nursing education consultants and a research assistant, in her position
as the Education Director at the Florida Board of Nursing.
The Education Unit is responsible for the review and approval of nursing education programs, nursing assistant training
programs and continuing education providers. In this position, Sherri assists the Executive Director with bill analysis
and issues impacting the nursing education community. She also serves as a consultant to the Executive Board
members and serves in varying capacities in the Board office to ensure the continuity of workflow and workload
processes.
Prior to her Director position, she was a Nursing Education Consultant for four years at the Board of Nursing. Sherri
has a rich and varied nursing background and was previously a Registered Nurse Case Manager for Big Bend Hospice,
a Registered Nurse Specialist at Unit 4/Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee and a long-time Senior Community
Health Nurse for the Gadsden County Health Department’s School Health Program.
