Pretend you moved from the family farm to New
York City in the late 1700s to work in one of the
large factories where shoes were produced.
Write a letter home to your family and describe
how the factory system produced these shoes.
Include in your description the important
components of the factory system.

grade. Test grades will count 50% of final grade.

the South Carolina Academic Standards for 7th Grade
Social Studies and to be successful on quizzes and tests.
