10 Years PDF - Praying Through the Arabian Peninsula

A little over ten years ago the call from
the minaret was crying “Allahu Akbar”
(God is the greatest). The Muslim faithful
were being called to gather for prayer.
Across the street a group of believers
were meeting, and they wondered if
many Christians were praying for these
Arab Muslims. Was anyone praying
that Muslims in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait,
Bahrain, U.A.E., Qatar, Oman or Yemen
would know Jesus and that His church
might be established?
As they heard the Islamic call to
prayer, their hearts were filled with a
desire to ask the world to focus prayer on
the Arabian Peninsula. A few months later
Praying Through the Arabian Peninsula
was launched. People started to pray
for these lands like never before. Prayer
materials were translated into many
different languages, and people around
the world started to pour their prayers into
the Arabian Peninsula.

God has done so much in these years of prayer!

The Passion of the Christ
Although controversial among
Christians, this film was shown
across the Arabian Peninsula,
in movie theaters or on blackmarket DVDs, challenging the
Muslim teaching that Jesus did
not die on the cross and opening
avenues for seekers of the truth
about Jesus and the Bible.
Intentional Witness
With an increase of expatriate workers who are
boldly and intentionally witnessing to the love
of the Father through Jesus Christ, more seeds
are being sown in these lands.
Christian Satellite TV
Even in remote villages, people are seeing TV
programs created by believers in Jesus, made
by people who are just
like them, who speak
their language, yet are
following Jesus.

Boldness of Local Believers
Local believers in Jesus, originally from a
Muslim-background, have a growing boldness.
Ten years ago, Muslims who followed Jesus
would never appear on TV or radio; today they
are being bold and telling their countrymen
about Jesus.
Internet Technology
Although there are a few countries in the
Arabian Peninsula with bookstores that sell
Bibles and Christian literature, now millions
can find digital Bibles, Christian films, and
books online. They can also take part in chatrooms or virtual churches.
Expatriate Christians and Churches
Freedom to meet and the number of churches
for expatriate Christians has increased, with
some governments giving them land to build on.
Arab Spring
Until very recently, Arabs
rarely questioned their political
systems and they were forbidden
to question their religion. The
Arab Spring brought about a
spirit of freedom to question.
U.A.E.
Yemen
The very heartbeat of Jesus
is to see His church planted
among all peoples.
Ten years ago, a few local believers lived in
the seven countries of the Arabian Peninsula.
Today, groups of people are meeting together.
Though the numbers are few and some face
fear, national believers come together, form
community and care for one another’s needs.
Ten years of prayer in the Arabian
Peninsula!
God has brought growth, but still…
• Not all have heard of the Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ!
• There are people groups without a
church!
• There are many cities with no believers.
• There are regions with little Christian
witness.
