Train tickets Train tickets for domestic travel are available from the yellow ticket machines near the platforms at Schiphol Plaza. Payment Tickets (for domestic and international travel) are also available from the ticket offices, which are situated close to the red/white‐checked cube at Schiphol Plaza. Staff at the ticket offices will also be able to provide you with train departure information. Incidentally, did you know that you can also purchase your train ticket well in advance? You can either buy one from a ticket machine or ask for a ticket without a date at one of the NS‐service desks. All you have to do on the day of travel is stamp your ticket at a machine on the platforms. Information about your train journey The journey planner on the NS website will provide you with information on the fastest and shortest route between The Crowne Plaza Amsterdam and Schiphol. It also contains the latest travel information, including details of temporary timetable changes. The first departure form Schiphol is at 05.48 and the train will depart 12 times in one hour from Schiphol to Amsterdam Zuid station, the last departure to Schiphol is at 23.42. The price of a one way ticket is approximately €2.50 (2nd class). http://www.ns.nl/en/travellers/home From train station Amsterdam Zuid to The Crowne Plaza Amsterdam – South The Crowne Plaza Amsterdam – South is located 500 meters from Amsterdam Zuid Station. When exiting the train station walk in the direction of the ‘‘Gustav Mahlerplein’’ (to the south). Keep walking straight on and cross the ‘‘Gustav Mahlerlaan’’ the hotel is located on your left, behind the orange building, at George Gershwinlaan 101. In and around Amsterdam The hotels, the meeting places and the restaurants are in Amsterdam, some in the city centre and some in Amsterdam South, the financial district of Amsterdam. Amsterdam is a wonderful city with a lot of beautiful places, to get in the city centre of Amsterdam, it is possible to order a taxi from the hotel or travel by the public transport of Amsterdam, which is a good way to see the city. Registration Please complete the registration form and return it by August 31st 2012 to: [email protected] and [email protected] Please send a separate form for each participant, including accompanying persons. After this date reservations in the hotel indicated might not be guaranteed and you may need to find a different accommodation or the price of the rooms will be higher. Personal information Please type or write clearly all information in capitals. Participants from some countries may be required to obtain visas to enter the EU and the host Federation will issue an invitation letter for your visa application upon your request via the registration from. If you require a visa be sure to send the registration asap to allow for processing time!! Meetings More information will be made available in the coming weeks. Accompanying persons may not attend official meetings. Accommodation Hotels are to be reserved as far in advance as possible, due to the high number of tourists visiting Amsterdam. For this reason you are kindly asked to return the registration form by August 31st 2012. In the register form you can choose if you want to share a room (double rooms has 2 separated beds) with another participant you know, or don’t know. When you know your roommate you can write the name of that person in the form, if you want to share a room with another participant, but you don’t know with whom (to avoid the high room rates) we can find another participant for you.
