The Ultra-Aire SD12 is the first two-piece, high efficiency, split whole
house ventilating dehumidifier. The dehumidifying unit is located inside
the house, while the condensing unit is installed outdoors. The two
piece design allows the sensible heat load generated from dehumidifying the house to be released by the outdoor condensing unit, thus
reducing additional air conditioner run time. Plus, with the nearly silent
condensing unit located outdoors, the Ultra-Aire SD12 is the quietest
whole house dehumidifier available.
First Stage Sensible Cooling
The Ultra-Aire SD12 provides sensible cooling to the living space (about
1/3 ton) and can be controlled by a dehumidistat, a thermostat, or both
– allowing for first stage cooling and 180 pints of water per day moisture removal. The HVAC system can be thermostatically set to a higher
temperature to provide additional cooling if needed. It also allows HVAC
systems to work more efficiently. By eliminating the HVAC system’s
need to control latent load, slowing airflow over the cooling coil is unnecessary, thus avoiding cold, sweaty ducts/ registers or the need for
costly reheat. The net result is a drier, more comfortable home that is
both healthier and more economical to operate.
Mechanical Fresh Air Ventilation
& High Efficiency Air Filtration
The Ultra-Aire SD12 features the ability to supply truly dehumidified
fresh air ventilation for improved indoor air quality and achieving a
slight positive pressure to the house. The ventilation function is
controlled separately from the dehumidification and filtration,
allowing ventilation to be customized for any application.
The Ultra-Aire SD12 includes air filtration to improve indoor air quality.
A MERV 11 media filter is standard. An optional external MERV 14 filter
box and deep pleated 95% media filter is available for optimum air
filtration and to reduce potentially harmful airborne particles.
Digital Control
The Ultra-Aire DEH 3000R Digital Control with remote temperature
sensor integrates with the Ultra-Aire SD12 and allows homeowners
to precisely monitor and control moisture levels, manage fresh air
ventilation (with optional damper) and activate air filtration – all from
the convenience of their living space.
