Assembly Congratulations RC Music News Digital Leaders On Tuesday 26th January 2016, Year 3 had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a Saint Lucian-inspired Music and Dance Workshop! The whole school thoroughly enjoyed Jim's performance in assembly before the Year 3's split into their workshops for the day. A team of 8 girls from Ken Prep joined nearly 200 other girls from GDST schools around the country for the GDST Digital Leaders Conference held at South Hampstead High School. Girls were challenged to devise a campaign to encourage more women to pursue careers in technology – only 17% of digital jobs are undertaken by women according a recent report by Deloitte. Forthcoming performances The Senior Choir will be performing at the Children’s trust Concert on Sunday February 7, taking place at St. John’s Smith Square. Girls involved will need to beat St. John’s by 11:45am. The Concert will commence at 2:00pm, concluding by 4:00pm. Tickets are available from the Children’s trust website at www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/london-schools-concert-2016. Thursday March 17th: Key Stage One Spring Concert. St. Dionis' Church at 1:45pm. Venice Tour: Please remember to send final payments as soon as possible. LFB Building Update Becky and Kaival from the London Fire Brigade visited the school to talk to Rec and Y2 girls about fire safety in the home including prevention, detection and escape, and the importance of smoke alarms. The brickwork is going up around the breakout spaces. Old Girl’s Jumble Sale Former Ken Prep girls, Catherine and Caroline Gay have been selected from four inner-London Girl Guiding counties to join an eleven day backpacking adventure around Slovenia and Croatia in July 2016. They are raising the full amount of £14,400 for the trip, and their first fundraising event is a jumble sale in All Saints Church Hall, Fulham on February 6th. Please support their efforts if you can by giving jumble donations – or by attending the sale. See the flyer attached for details. Their mum, Mrs Gay will be at the school gate Thursday 4th Feb and Friday 5th Feb at drop off and pick up to take any donations.
