A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HE MAYOR OR IDS DESIGNEE TO
ENTER INTO A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT NUMBER FCXXXX WITH XXXXXXXXXX, TO PROVIDE WORKERS' COMPENSATION
THIRD PARTY ADMINISTRATION SERVICES TO THE CITY OF ATLANTA
ON A MONTH TO MONTH BASIS EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 27,2016, IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTY-TWO THOUSAND
DOLLARS AND NO CENTS ($462,000.00); ALL SERVICES TO BE CHARGED
TO AND PAID FROM FUNDING NUMBERS LISTED HEREIN, AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Atlanta provides workers' compensation insurance to all
employees for work-related illnesses and injuries; and
WHEREAS, the City of Atlanta has elected to outsource the administration of its selfinsured workers' compensation program to a third party; and
WHEREAS, the current three (3) year contract and two (2) six month extensions for
third party administration services expires on December 26, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Procurement Officer has authorized a special procurement in
accordance Section 2-1191 of the Atlanta City Code of Ordinances for Workers'
Compensation Third Party Administration Services; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer now recommends that the City enter into
Professional Services Agreement FC-XXXX, Workers' Compensation Third Party
Administration Services with XXXXXXXXXX on a month to month basis effective
December 27,2016, in an amount not to exceed FOUR lillNDRED AND SIXTY-TWO
THOUSAND DOLLARS AND NO CENTS ($462,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ATLANTA, GEORGIA, that the Mayor or his designee is authorized to execute
Professional Services Agreement Number FC-XXXX with XXXXXXXXXX., to provide
Workers' Compensation Third Party Administration Services to the City of Atlanta on a
month to month basis effective December 27, 2016, at the City's sole discretion.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that fees for all Workers' Compensation Third Party
Administration Services shall be charged to and paid from FDOA funds 1001
(GENERAL), 5051 (WATERSHED), 5401 (SOLID WASTE), 5501 (AIRPORT), 5601
(BUILDING PERMITS), 6001 (FLEET), and accounts 5127001 (WORKERS COM,
INC. PAY) 5127003 (EMPLOYEE REIMBURSEMENT WORKERS COMP MED
EXP.) 5127004 (WORKERS COMP SERVICE PROVIDERS) 5127005 (EMPLOYEE
REHAB COSTS) 5127006 (PAYMENTS TO OTHER GOVERNMENTS).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chief Procurement Officer or his designee, in
consultation with the City Attorney, be hereby directed to prepare an appropriate
agreement for execution by the Mayor or his designee.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the agreement will not become binding on the City,
and the City will incur no obligation or liability under it until it has been approved as to
form by the City Attorney or her designee, executed by the Mayor or his designee,
attested to by the Municipal Clerk, and delivered to the contracting parties.
