It reached its final location negotiating country roads, Interstate 90, overhanging the Yellowstone River Bridge crossing, and over hilly pastureland that was once a 1800s wagon trail for the now defunct town of Cokedale. Over the course of many months, Reece oversaw a team of carpenters and builders - who would more appropriately be called artists - as they transformed a basic small cabin into a gorgeous home that marries elements of the old world and modern design. Century-old juniper fence posts, naturally beautified by weather, adorn closet doors and trim work, and serve as a coat rack. More antlers from Reece's personal collection, make serve as towel racks, and pot hangers in the kitchen. Other features include travertine and white marble throughout both the kitchen and bathrooms; and to provide more storage a hidden trap door in the kitchen, accessed via an electronic rope pull; walls made of cold-rolled steel that the builders rusted and stylized themselves with hydrogen peroxide and muriatic acid; a signed mural painted by Reece on the ceiling; willows from the nearby creek, along with more antlers, threaded into kitchen features and closet doors; a stone patio; his painting designs etched into bathroom door windows; acacia wood flooring; a meticulously crafted outdoor stone fire pit; and much more. As an artist, Reece sought to enliven the house with "sculptures" and working pieces of art, not basic interior design features. Besides being an optimal living space he considers the final product both a work of art itself and a social statement.
