We have communicated with other Union leaders and continue to consult with CSEA. We will be providing copies of related articles and reports on our Chapter 18 website at chapter18.csea.com As we enter into negotiations, for the first time in several years we will be working with a new District negotiating team. The District?s lawyer Spencer Covert will be replacing John Caldecott as their lead negotiator. As always and continually, our primary focus is on securing benefits and salary for classified employees. This is not just during times of negotiations but is a year round and constant discussion with the leadership of NMUSD. The Classification Study is progressing along. I know it may seem like nothing is happening especially to the twelve month employees that started this process last year, but most of the work is happening at Ewing Consultants as they prepare and review the job descriptions. Once the process is in line for all of the groups involved, and the 10, 11 & 12 month employees, the Compensation Study will begin.
