Custom-made A-Type Grating
Weland A-Type Grating looks
the same way today it did when
we started to produce gratings fifty
years ago.
The method of manufacturing,
though, has been altered, and today
Weland A-type grating is manufactured automatically by machines of high
precision and capacity.
Weland A-type grating is kept in stock with
mesh sizes and formats for purposes generally
asked for.
Besides Weland A-type grating kept in stock gratings
are manufactured in sizes and mesh sizes as required
by the customer. As standard this type of grating is supplied hot dip galvanized, but can also be manufactured
from stainless steel and aluminum.

A-Type Grating Mesh Size
Weland A-type grating is manufactured as standard with mesh size 22 x 22 mm and 33 x 11 mm. Other
mesh sizes can be manufactured upon request, but, of course, with given limitations.

The height of
the cross bar is
always 10 mm
Distance between cross bars:
This measure is limited to multiples
of 11.1 mm, thus 11.1 - 22.2 –
33.3 – 44.4 etc.

A-Type Grating Dimensions
/ Load Capacity
The distance between the load bearing bars and
their dimensions determine the load capacity of
the grating. As standard the height of load bearing
bars lies between 20 and 60 mm and is adapted to
the load expected, from almost no load on ceilings
to heavy load on vehicular grating applied for
lorry traffic.
Heavy duty A-type grating can be manufactured
on special order, e.g. load bearing bar dimensions
120 x 6 mm as shown on the picture.

Surface Treatment
Weland A-type grating is as standard hot dip galvanized in accordance with Fe / Zn SS-EN ISO
1461.
Other types of surface treatment can be offered, for
instance painting of different kind, anodizing etc.
Entrance boot scrapers are in stock as
shown in tables.

Kerb Angle Frames
Stock entrance mats A22x22 and A33x11
can be supplied with matching kerb
angle frames equipped with embedment ties.
Hot dip galvanized.
Kerb Angle Frames in free parts
Weland also stock kerb angle frames for all stock pedestrian
and vehicular gratings. The kerb angle frames consist
of angle sections and 3000 mm long side sections.
When fitted the side sections are cut on site
to required length.
All frame components are hot dip
galvanized, equipped with
embedment ties and nail
holes to facilitate
the moulding
work.
