Welcome to Wausau Child Care Summer Day Camp!
We offer many exciting activities including outdoor adventures, daily field trips, weekly picnics, creative arts,
weekly swimming, library time, community involvement and special visitors. The program hours are from 6:30
a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Our camp is held from June 12th - August 18th, 2017. We will be
closed on July 4th to observe Independence Day. An overall monthly summer calendar, with field trips, will be
available to our campers 1 week before the beginning of the month ahead. These opportunities will provide
long lasting friendships and an enriching experience for the children. Our DPI Nutrition Program will provide
breakfast, lunch, and snack. There is a ratio of 1 teacher for every 13 children ages 4-5 and 1 teacher for every 17
children ages 5-12. Campers are assigned to a classroom at the beginning of the summer, along with other
campers in their age group.

In order to increase the amount of summer fun, exciting field trips have been planned for your
child this summer. When you receive the monthly calendar, the field trips and activities will be
listed including the additional cost for them, if any. Cancellations of field trips will only occur
when the weather does not permit. Canceled field trips may or may not be rescheduled
depending on availability. In some cases, we may exceed our field trip times due to unforeseen
circumstances and will return to camp as soon as possible. Camp staff is always in direct

*SUNSCREEN*
Each camper is responsible for providing and
applying his/her own sunscreen. The WI
Department of Children & Families
recommends the use of “Broad Spectrum”
sunscreen. If you choose not to have your child
wear sunscreen, you will need to provide
protective clothing for your child to wear (ex:
hat, long sleeve shirt, pants, etc). We highly
recommend sunscreen to avoid heat
exhaustion and/or missing out on the fun
activities.
Breakfast, lunch and snack are included in
the weekly fee and will be provided through
our DPI nutrition program. Menus will be
available a week in advance. If your child
should choose to bring an alternate lunch, it
should be nutritious and able to restore
energy levels. Please do not send soda or
glass containers. Water bottles will be
permitted and are recommended.
