NICKELODEON INTRODUCES FAMILY SITCOM
WENDELL & VINNIE
iCARLY's JERRY TRAINOR STARS IN BRAND NEW NICKELODEON COMEDY SERIES WENDELL &
VINNIE PREMIERING MONDAY 10TH JUNE AT 7PM
London - 13th May 2013 – Nickelodeon introduces brand-new, live-action comedy series, Wendell &
Vinnie, premiering on Monday 10th June at 7:00pm. A show for all the family, the sitcom follows 30year-old Vinnie Bassett (Jerry Trainor, iCarly) a carefree bachelor, who suddenly becomes the legal
guardian of his wise-beyond-his-years nephew Wendell (Buddy Handleson, Shake It Up) forming a
hysterical odd-couple family dynamic.
The multi-camera show is executive produced by Emmy Award-winning Jay Kogen (Frasier, Malcolm in
the Middle) and Aaron Kaplan (The Simpsons). Nicole Sullivan (Rita Rocks, MadTV) also stars as Vinnie’s
older unlucky-in-love sister Wilma and Haley Strode (Gangster Squad) as Vinnie’s newly-divorced
neighbour and love interest Taryn. The series will air regularly on weeknights at 7:00pm.
The pilot episode introduces Vinnie, proprietor of an online pop culture memorabilia store who only
takes breaks to read comic books and play computer games. His bachelor life comes to a halt when he
assumes guardianship of his incredibly intelligent and mature nephew, Wendell. They soon find that 12year-old Wendell may be just the parent Vinnie needs. The episode sees Dan Castellanata (Homer
Simpson, The Simpsons) make a guest appearance as Vinnie’s next door neighbour.
This season will find lighthearted Vinnie helping socially awkward Wendell – and vice versa – including
Vinnie navigating through Parents Teacher Association politics to help Wendell build a school garden, a
sleepover that goes awry when Vinnie becomes the centre of attention and a deliberate detention to
help Vinnie get closer to his nephew’s vice principal.
