Beth Reilly

Beth Reilly
Beth Reilly has lived a very dynamic life, and she
continues to do so at The Village at Sprenkle Drive. She
constantly is finding ways to be productive and make a
difference.
“There is always something to do,” Beth said. “I have a
project going on all the time.”
Volunteering is very important to Beth. She volunteered in the psychiatric unit at York Hospital
for a few years before accepting a full time position. Currently, she volunteers at the skilled care center
at Sprenkle Drive and is actively involved with the York County Literacy Council. She also volunteers at
York Little Theatre, a community very close to her heart.
Beth earned an English degree from Wilson College. In her 50s she earned a Master’s Degree in
Speech and Theater which opened the door to teaching at York College. Theater has been a passion of
Beth’s nearly her whole life. Beth was active in the York Little Theatre for 40 years, serving as president
of the board for several years. She still regularly attends productions at the theatre.
Beth remains fit by attending aerobics and yoga classes at Sprenkle Drive. She also swims
several times a week at the YMCA.
“It’s good for your body and it’s good for your soul,” Beth explained. “Keep moving. I find if I
keep moving, everything works better in my whole body.”
She also has organized a croquet team on campus. The team
is preparing to compete in The County Cup held in October.
“Hopefully we will win some money for LSS,” Beth said.
“There is always a way to give back.”
Although she enjoys going to happy hours and wine and cheese parties at Sprenkle Drive, Beth
says she likes cooking and continues to cook all of her own meals. Many of the ingredients she uses
come from the garden that she tends right outside of her back patio.
Beth has taken advantage of several travel opportunities sponsored by LSS. She took her
grandson on a cruise to Alaska sponsored by the LSS Foundation and plans to travel the coast of South
America with her niece on another expedition sponsored by LSS.
“Moving here was the perfect spot for me,” Beth said.
“The neighbors are great. They have a lot of activities. You can do
something every day. I’m very active and I think I’ll probably always be
that way.”
Family is essential to Beth. She has three children and five grandchildren. She loves visiting with
her children. She treasures memories that she has of her family, especially from traveling with them.
“You need family,” Beth said. “It is so important. Get to know your grandparents because they
can be fun.”
