COACHING CONVENOR REPORT:
Linda would like mentioned the following, with regard to State Age this year. “Accommodation
was great, except no pool. Meals were well organised. First time for years coach/manager and
players were located together. Whoever organised this should be congratulated.”
Melisa – Tanya needs your list of Foundation/Development Coaches within STNC.
Tanya would like to obtain Presenters Certificate, so that Coffs Harbour will have an actual
Presenter for Foundation and Development coaching courses. Once the intermediate course is
completed (hopefully in Hastings on 24th August), all that is left to complete is the Presenters
workshop. Financial assistance for this workshop is sought from the association – all in favour.
Suggestion to the Association as a whole for ALL clubs to allows us to run Coaching Courses (NetEd
style) from what Leanne and Tanya learnt at Hastings Valley Course. This will arm club coaches
with vital information on what to look for, how to correct, increase our players’ skills, and
hopefully boost the caliber of netballers we produce from the association as a whole. Coaches will
not have to pay for this. Suggestion was made to incorporate this into the nights that clubs already
train?
Representative players nominations are out Wed night and Saturdays. Can all clubs please
suggest/remind players that they are there, along with announcements from Melisa and Sonya
during competition on these days. Once squads are selected, there will have to be training on the
grass courts, and perhaps alternate locations due to the re-surfacing of our bitumen courts.
Squad selections – 4.30pm 8th September, 2014 (juniors only). Nominations for rep coaches – due
22nd August.
Squad training – whilst in Hastings, there were a few discussions regarding training for rep squads.
Something that was heard several times was that clubs were training their rep girls twice/week
and they were also playing their rep game. Tanya has suggested that, pending individuals’
availability within teams, we try to implement this. With the time and effort that our rep coaches
(and teams), we could see all of our teams return to Division Two, instead of playing in Division
Three. Speaking from experience in Coaching U/12’s in 2014, Tanya advised it was very tough. A
lot of players are still throwing bad passes, and don’t have strong foundations (stepping, incorrect
passing, incorrect shooting, etc). This means that more time is spent on foundation level skills,
rather than preparing them for representative level.
Tanya to contact Lauren to put out nominations on Facebook page for Rep Coaches (closing date
22nd August).
Rep Presentation is being held 16th August. Arrival at 6pm, with breads commencing at 6.15pm.
Cost is $25/head for a 3 course meal.
All Age Carnival – Sunday 17th August. Clubs need to provide Tanya with a list of teams and
divisions so that a draw can be organised. Nominations to be sent out by Carina on Tuesday (5th
August) with closing date the following Monday.
Bunnings BBQ – Tanya would like to thank all the parents/players that did show up and help with
the BBQ. Very disappointed with the amount of people who didn’t show, and the general lack of
committment. This took a lot of organization and running around and to have teams show with
less than half of the players, really shows the lack of commitment towards the association.
Thumb drive required with rep photos from previous years on it. Tanya was advised that Jo had
possession of this. Photos need to be put up and organised for each year. Suggestion (all agree) to
hang them in downstairs room, as this is the room that all players have access to.

SENIOR REGISTRAR:
Comp running well. Still having some issues with umpires. Because of shortened comp, we may be
in trouble if we have wash out games…. Some people upset because there is a bye in Div 3. Survey
sent through to all senior teams regarding wash out games. Most popular response was to replay
the game the next Wednesday at 8.30pm. All in favour.
Gomers (STNC) – tech forfeit for Round 1.
Coffs Rox receiving a forfeit fine.

UMPIRE CONVENOR:
Saturday umpires – have placed a strong or badged umpire on Division 5 (Courts 10,11 and 12).
Hayley and Myra to badge Tanya, Amber McRae Mitchell, Mattese Herdegen and Nicole in the
coming weeks. Leanne to check with Myra.
Sonya suggested that we try and badge as many dedicated umpires as we possibly can. List from
Clubs provided to Leanne for people who they think are ready to be badged.

Reminder for all coaches to make sure that all players sign on the score sheet, and that a best and
fairest is picked from the opposing team.
Reminder to have strong umpires on the grass courts for Division 5.

Can we have CHNA emblem on trophies?
Gala Day for Netta’s will be held on Grand Final Day. Can we invite the Net Set Go girls to play, as
this will take out a bye in the draw? What time should be commence? 9.30am.
STNC would like to have their BBQ on 16/8/14 – all ok.

GENERAL BUSINESS:
CHCC meeting – successful with paperwork sent through regarding new lease and conditions. Jo to
confirm that association is happy to proceed.
Courtcraft contacted Jo regarding court re-surfacing. Colours need to be chosen and confirmed
(general consensus was blue courts).
Jo would like to organise a thank you BBQ for all volunteers.
