Fredon Boy Scout Troop 92 recently participated in the annual Klondike Derby held at Camp Winnebago and were the 2016 first place winners! Scout patrols are given a map and push their sled from 'town' to 'town' and report to the 'mayor' of each town. Scouts are tested and scored on their outdoor skills. Congratulations to two new Eagle Scouts! Nick Bond and Derek Chammings of Troop 92 in Fredon Township, were recently awarded the rank of Eagle Scout at individual Eagle Scout Courts of Honor held in honor of each Scout. Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America. Dog Licenses were due by January 31st! 2016 Dog Licenses were due by January 31, 2016. Licenses applications are now subject to a $5.00 per month, per dog, late fee. The rabies shot must be current through November 1st of the current licensing year. If your dog’s vaccination expires before November 1st of this year, you must have your dog re-vaccinated before submitting this application. Recycling & Bulk Pick-up Information Curbside Recycling Pickup is available for all residential dwellings located on roads regularly serviced by garbage haulers on the FIRST and THIRD MONDAY of each month. In New Jersey, all residents and businesses are required by law to recycle. Material must be placed at the curbside the evening before scheduled pickup - regardless of your garbage contractor. Bulk Pickup is provided March through November for all residential dwellings located on roads regularly serviced by garbage haulers. Bulk pickup will be during the 3rd full week of the month. One never knows what the winter will bring as far as the amount of snowfall, so please keep in mind that Fredon Township Ordinances state that “no snow which accumulates within private property is to be thrown, placed or deposited upon the sidewalks, streets or public roads of the Township”. Additionally, please make sure that any private contractor plowing your driveway complies with this ordinance, as it is the property owners’ responsibility. Snow plowed or shoveled onto the roadway often creates an unexpected hazard for drivers. Noncompliance with this ordinance may result in a notice of violation and fines beginning at $100.00.
