Reverting to a Windows restore point which contains previous product version blocks upgrade until new product version is released. Installation or upgrade of Antivirus or Browsing Protection may fail, if Windows update is installing updates at the same time. Sometimes when Windows update is installing updates, installation of Antivirus or Browsing Protection may fail. You need to run the re-installation from System tray icon menu > Open common settings > Installed applications page to correct the situation. Some packages show up as 'Not installed' in common settings downloads page before upgrade. You may see some packages in 'Not installed' state in common settings downloads page before the upgrade. This happens when upgrade is waiting for remaining packages to be downloaded. All packages will change to installed state once the upgrade is completed and you have restarted the computer. Upgrade will not start if there is not enough disk space. If the upgrade process detects that there is not enough disk space for upgrading, no message is displayed to the user but it will retry later. Once user freed space on the hard disk, upgrade process will resume automatically at next check. Incompatibility with Sophos Secure Web Gateway. If you have Sophos Secure Web Gateway scanning network traffic, the product may not be able to download virus database updates. Exclude guts2.f-secure.com from scanning to fix the problem. Antivirus: DeepGuard may block some games or applications, or applications might be slowed down. Incompatibility with nProtect GameGuard The nProtect GameGuard anti-cheating toolkit, used by a number of games, causes Antivirus malfunction as the protection processes get terminated. There is no workaround to this problem: to make protection work again, restart the computer after finishing playing the game.
