GULF COAST MEDICAL CENTER 13681 Doctor’s Way, Fort Myers, FL 33912 (Located at the corner of Daniels and Metro Parkway) Admissions (non-patient) – Greeting patients and visitors and assist them in getting registered and other assigned duties. Arts in Healthcare – Round on patients with art cart providing word searches, crossword puzzles, and color sheets. Cardio Vascular Information Desk – (patient) Greet visitors, checking with staff about patient’s condition and visitation, keep family update and informed about procedures etc. Clerical Support (non-patient)—Assist in various departments with answering phones, greeting customers, filing, making copies, etc. Crafts (non-patient)—Provide homemade items for patients including but not limited to, shawls, blankets, quilts, and baby hats. Items can be made from home. Customer Service Information Surgery Desk & Escort (non-patient) —Greeting and checking in families, escorting to pre-op and post op and keeping track of families in the waiting room area. Requires walking and some pushing patients in wheel chairs. Customer Service Lobby Information Desks (non-patient)—Greet and escort patients and visitors, computer work, answer phones, look-up patient information for visitors. Emergency Department (patient) – Greet patients and visitors and assist them in getting registered at Triage desk, attend to visitors and patients in waiting area. Or work in the patient treatment area assisting staff with room turnover and restocking supplies. Food & Nutrition Service (non-patient)—Assist in cafeteria, cleaning tables, wiping trays, restocking. GCMC Uniform Store (non-patient) – Running cash register, waiting on customers, restocking inventory. Heart Central (patient) – Assist staff by delivering telemetry transmitters to patient rooms, checking batteries, cleaning equipment and running errands. Hearts & Hands Gift Store (non-patient) – Running cash register, waiting on customers, restocking inventory. Intensive Care Waiting Room (patient) – Greet visitors, checking with staff about patient’s condition and visitation, keep family updated and informed about procedures etc. Other duties as assigned. Medical Floor Service (patient) – Deliver water, linens, stocking, answer call lights, and other duties as assigned. Medical Library (non-patient)—Assist patrons with researching data bases for information. Must be able to use computer. Use Internet, e-mail, fax and phone to communicate with library patrons and with other libraries. Check in/out books fill requests for copies of articles. Pet Therapy (patient) - Registration with Therapy Dogs Inc. or an approved pet therapy organization the dog must be at least 1-year of age and have successfully completed the Therapy Dog program. Pre-Op/PACU (patient) - Rounding on patients, stocking supplies, escorting patients, visitors, chart prep, clean monitors and stretchers. Run errands as needed. Rehabilitation Outpatient Services (patient) – Keep treatment rooms clean and stocked. Get hot/cold packs ready for patients. Assist patients to fill out paperwork. Some clerical duties. Renal Transplant (non-patient) - Assist department with answering phones, greeting customers, filing, data entry, making copies, typing etc. Supply Chain – (non-patient) – Deliver equipment and inventory to departments throughout the facility.
