Wine list
All our wines are certified organic or biodynamic as we believe that they strive to maximise their expression of terroir or
‘sense of origin’, the idea being that there is nothing extra in the wine to interfere with its purity.

Charming white wine from Southern Italy that's a fresh as newly
dropped fruit from the orange tree. Fragrant, lively with a crisp finish.
102 Spain
Petit Albet Chardonnay/Xarel.lo 2010, Albet I Noya
The influence of the indigenous Xarel.lo makes this an altogether
different wine-drinking experience. It's zippier than a straight unoaked
Chardonnay and much more invigorating.
103 Chile
Adobe Gewürztraminer 2010, Emiliana Orgánico
An aromatic wine (helped along with a splash of Sauvignon Blanc) with
hints of orange blossom and candied citrus fruits. Something
completely different; this is an engaging wine with a vibrant finish.
106 Austria
Burgenland Grüner Veltliner 2010, Meinklang B
Grüner Veltliner is an Austrian grape variety that's steadily increasing
its fan club beyond the wine critics and sommeliers. A wine that will
charm you with its mineral freshness, green fruits and zippy, slightly
peppery finish. Excellent.
104 N. Zealand
Cawte’s Cave Sauvignon Blanc 2009/10, Rock Ferry
£24
Invigorating, super-fresh Sauvignon Blanc with zesty green fruit, bright
acidity and just the lightest touch of sweet passion fruit on the finish.
105 Italy
Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico 2010, Barone Pizzini
B

From the east coast of central Italy. Striking citrus fruits with the
attractive nutty flavours for which Verdicchio (grape) is rightly famous.

Burgandian class with good balance of acidity and fruit and an
underlying richness that make it a wine for all seasons
107 France

Nero d'Avola is as hearty and warm grape. It soft and approachable
with flavoursome black-fruited character.
301 Spain
Tempranillo/Cabernet 2009/10, Azul y Garanza
Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon work very well together in this
lively Navarra red that is only very lightly oaked. The fruit is rich and
red and the tannins well taken up by the ripe fruit.
302 France
Côte du Rhône 2009/10, Château Rochecolombe
Fantastic blend of old vine Grenache and Syrah grapes, with nose of
spice and wild strawberry, a mouth full of black fruits, serious weight
and black pepper spice
303 Argentina
Malbec 2010, Domaine Jean Bousquet
You can pick up the vanilla and spice that the oak brings without losing
any of the fantastic black plum, blackberry and dark cherry fruits that
Malbec is famous for.
304 Chile
Novas Cabernet/Merlot 2008/10 Emiliana Orgánico
£26
Cherry and strawberry fruits aplenty in this striking Chilean red. The
palate has an inviting cream and mocha edge. A wine that is sure to
have you reaching for seconds.
305 Italy
IGT Maremma Toscana Sangiovese 2009, Barone Pizzini
£27
Soft and finely textured Tuscany red with a gentle spice and savoury
edge. A complex wine yet approachable and lends itself to a long
evening spent unravelling its intricacies
306 Austria
Burgenland Pinot Noir 2009/10 Meinklang B
£30
Pinot Noir is thriving in the Austria and this excellent, biodynamic
example shows what it's capable of here. Ripe, red cherry fruits define
the palate and are neatly intertwined with soft tannins. Very seductive
indeed.
307 France
Puisseguin - St Emilion 2007/08, Chateau Beausejour
£32
A classic St Emilion made from 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and
5% Cabernet Sauvignon is the blend. Nicely textured wine with
balanced, lightly-grainy tannins that make it a great wine for food.
308 Australia
McLaren Vale Shiraz/Viognier 2008/09, Battle of Bosworth
This blend of Shiraz and Viognier is all about delivering a perfumed
wine with real finesse. Fermented together the Shiraz (93%) is
tempered by the slightly floral qualities of the Viognier but the wine
still brims over with chocolate-laced black fruits, liquorice and spice. A
powerful wine.

Fortified Malbec 2009, Domaine Jean Bousquet (18%, 50cl)
This sweet, 'port-like' Malbec is really quite special. It has intense
aromas of black fruit, roasted coffee, melted chocolate and spice; mere
suggestions of the explosion of flavours that follow on the palate.
