The following providers have been approved to provide child care. All providers have met the requirements of AFI 34-276 (Air Force Family Child Care Programs).
Providers are required to provide developmentally appropriate activities and serve meals according to USDA guidelines. Each provider can watch 6 children at one

An affiliated home is located off base and licensed with the state of Texas as well as affiliated with the Sheppard AFB FCC Program
Affiliated providers must comply with the requirements of both agencies.

FAMILY CHILD CARE: A QUALITY CHOICE!
A realistic alternative to the Child Development Center (CDC). Providers are as fully trained as CDC providers, & offer full time, part
time, hourly care, before & after school, nights, weekends, returning home, extended duty and PCS care.

EXPANDED CHILD CARE PROGRAMS
Please Contact FCC Office to set up following FREE care
+ AF Family Child Care Subsidy (AF FCCS) provides for care of children/youth during swings or shifts or provides for care are of
children/youth who have been identified with a special need(s).
+Extended Duty Care (EDC) is designed to help families who have a requirement to work longer hours, evenings, overnight, weekends and/or
are experiencing a temporary shift change (up to 3 days) while they perform their mission during contingency or high tempo operations and have
no one else in the home available to provide care.
+Returning Home Care (RHC) provides 16 hours of child care to eligible members returning from a 30 day plus deployment in support of
contingency operations as well as those returning for their 2-week Rest and Recuperation (R&R) leave.
+Home Community Care (HCC) provides care during primary UTA weekends and have no one else in the home available to provide care.
+Medical Care provides care for medical emergencies and have no one else in the home available to provide care.
+Wounded Warrior Care provides hourly care for appointments and has no one else in the home available to provide care.
+Bereavement Care provides hourly care to attend appointments for a fallen military family member and have no one else in the home available
to provide care.
AIR FORCE AID SOCIETY PROGRAMS

+ The Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Program provides child care to eligible members’ permanently changing location. The family will
receive up to 20 hours of child care (for each child) when you are within 60 days of your PCS departure or arrival date at this base. It is the
responsibility of the family to ensure the 20 hour limit is not exceeded. Contact providers directly to set up care.
+ The Volunteer Program (VP) provides 20 hours of child care to anyone who volunteers on base. Contact providers directly to set up care.
+ The Key Spouse Initial Training Program provides care for those spouses attending training to become a Key Spouse to support their
squadron.

prohibited from advertising their services through base publications and agencies.
All government-housing occupants should be aware of the regulations governing the care of children, other than their own,
in government housing or privatized housing affiliated with the government. AFI 34-276, Family Child Care (FCC) Programs, defines
the requirement to be licensed as a family child care provider if: an individual caring for other families’ children a total of more than
10 hours a week on a regular basis in on-base or contracted quarters.
