Section 4: FIRST AID
EYE CONTACT: Remove contact lenses if present. Flush eyes with eyewash solution or clean water for
at least 15 minutes. See a physician, preferably an ophthalmologist, if necessary.
SKIN CONTACT: Flush thoroughly with lukewarm (below 105F, 40ºC) fresh water.
INHALATION: Remove victim to fresh air. If victim is not breathing and/or has no pulse, administer
pulmonary respiration or cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. If victim has difficulty breathing, administer
oxygen. Seek immediate medical attention.
INGESTION: Do not induce vomiting. Wash out mouth with water and give half a pint (200 – 300 ml) of
water to drink. Never give a drink to an unconscious victim. Seek immediate medical attention.
NOTE TO PHYSICIANS: Further medical treatment is unlikely to be required but, if necessary, treat
symptomatically.

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: KIDDEx® is non-flammable. Use media appropriate for the surrounding fire.
HAZARDOUS COMBUSTION PRODUCTS: None.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Firefighters should wear full fire-fighting turnout gear, including a full-face
piece, and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
Section 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE
No special precautions are necessary. While wearing the appropriate safety equipment as indicated in
Section 8, clean up spillage and transfer to a suitable container for disposal or recovery. Wash the spill
area with water.
Section 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE
HANDLING: Keep dust level below occupational exposure limit (see Section 8).
Wear eye/face and skin protection and a dust mask if handling regularly and continuously.
STORAGE: Store sealed containers in a secure, dry, cool area, protected from the weather and away

Section 8: EXPOSURE CONTROL / PERSONAL PROTECTION
ENGINEERING CONTROLS: Areas in the vicinity of closed systems protected by KIDDEx® should be
well-ventilated to keep the concentration of KIDDEx® below the permissible exposure level if a discharge
occurs. Maintenance personnel should never enter KIDDEx® -protected areas without making the system
safe from accidental discharge.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
EYES/GLOVES/CLOTHING: wear eye/face protection and gloves and cover skin when handling material
continuously and regularly.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Under normal manufacturing conditions, no respiratory protection is
required when using this material. Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) is required if a large
release occurs in a confined area.
EXPOSURE GUIDELINES:
Neither OSHA nor ACGIH have established exposure limits for KIDDEx®. OSHA has established
Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL) for Particulate Not Otherwise Regulated (PNOR) as follows:
3
Total Dust: 15 mg/m – 8 hour TWA
3
Respirable Dust: 5 mg/m – 8 hour TWA
