ABOUT HEARTKIDS
HeartKids is a special charity solely focused on Childhood Heart
Disease (CHD) which is sadly one of the greatest causes of infant
death in
Australia.
Every week around 4 children from South Australia and the Northern Territory must travel to Melbourne with their critically ill child
for life giving surgery.
HeartKids supports more than 800 families across South Australia
and Northern Territory and in the last year provided financial support to over 150 families travelling interstate for surgical procedures. In addition more than 25 family support activities were held.
HeartKids also has a dedicated Family Support team who offer
emotional, practical and financial support services and also links
families with a parent network.
Our Vision: We aspire to life unaffected by Childhood Heart Disease
Our Mission: To improve the lives and futures of those affected by
Childhood Heart Disease by providing high quality care, support,
information and advocacy.
THE EVENT
Two Feet and a Heartbeat, is a Charity Walk to support HeartKids to be held on Sunday 30 October across South Australia and Northern Territory .
Did you know the human heart begins to beat at 21 days after conception?
Did you know that 8 babies are born every day in Australia with CHD?
Two Feet and a Heartbeat consists of two courses - 2.1km and 8km long - allowing for participation from families and young children in the shorter course and fun run regulars in the longer
course.
After fielding teams of well over 1,000 participants in the annual City to Bay Fun Run, HeartKids
SA/NT felt the time was right to run their own event, as the majority of the HeartKids City to Bay
team were keen to participate in a stand alone event. Two Feet and a Heartbeat was launched
and the response? Overwhelming! Within less than 48 hours over 60 people had registered
with nearly $3,000 already fundraised!

The Activity Zone will be THE spot after the walk for the kids and young at heart. Balloons,
Jumping Castles, Face Painting, Games, Prizes and more! All activities are free for anyone who
participates in Two Feet and a Heartbeat.
Along with the standard sponsorship inclusions the Activity Zone Sponsor will receive
Naming Rights of the Activity Zone ie “Sponsor Name Activity Zone”
