Hippos are the third largest land mammal and one of the most aggressive animals in the world. They are highly territorial animals and have 12 inch tusks that can bite a crocodile in half. Females are more deadly than males because they are very protective of their calves. Their habitat is often encroached upon by farmers and tourists, resulting in many fatalities.
