the competition or occasioned wholly or in part by any act, neglect, default or omission by the organisers or by its officer, employees, officials agents or
contractors or by any other person or persons taking part in connection with the consent or approval of the organisers.
I grant to HILLARYS YACHT CLUB INC., its representatives and employees the right to take photographs of me and my property in connection with the
above-identified subject. I authorizeHILLARYS YACHT CLUB INC., its assigns and transferees to copyright, use and publish the same in print and/or

Entry forms and fees per person are to be lodged before 1700 hours on Wednesday 26 April 2017 at Hillarys Yacht Club reception. Entries
however will be accepted up until 0800 hours on the day of the competition, but a late fee of $10 applies. Entry fees are non refundable.

Competition Rules
1. ENTRIES CLOSE 1700 Wednesday 26 April 2017.
A $10 late entry fee will apply for entries received after 1700 26 April 2017 until 0800
on the day of the competition.
2. FIELD DAY OFFICER
The field day officer has complete charge of the competition and is empowered to
report any competitor, whom he considers has breached the rules, to the Disputes
Committee. (3 people)
3. The competition is only open to AMATEURS.
NOMINATIONS
4. All competitors must have nominated prior to signing on.
5. SIGN-ON
All competitors must sign-on at Hillarys (near Hillarys ramp wash down area) prior
to launching. Sign-on area will be open from 0530 hours. Land based anglers not
permitted - this is a boat competition.
6. START PROCEDURE
The competition will start at 0630 hours by notification over the radio on frequency
VHF72 and 27.96Mhz. All competitors must sign on. No boat shall proceed beyond the
designated area defined by Cardinal Markers outside the Hillarys Marina prior to 0630
hours. BOATS ARE NOT TO CONGEST THE ENTRANCE TO MARINA.
7. ANGLING PROCEDURE
A competitor must not use more than two (2) rods or hand lines at any one time and
each rod or hand line must not have more than two (2) hooks (a flight/gang of hooks
is to be considered as one (1) hook). No drop lines or baited markers allowed. All
anglers must use conventional amateur tackle. Rope or sash cord etc not permitted.
A competitor may use any gauge line. No power winches are to be used. A competitor
must hook and land his own fish, but may receive assistance in landing which does
not entail his/her assistant handling rod, reel or line. “All fish presented for weigh-in
must conform to current Department of Fisheries regulation”. If no size specified then
the species must be a minimum of 200mm.
8. FINISH PROCEDURE
• Sign off area will be at Hillarys ramp wash down area and open from 1200 hours.
• All bags must be sealed with tie and tagged with the anglers name and
competitor number provided and DEPOSITED INTO THE TRAILER provided in the
sign off area by 1500 hours. Fish will only be accepted at the trailer in natural
fibre bags (NO PLASTIC). Only one (1) fish of each listed species caught is to
be placed in a bag. More than one fish of any species or unlisted species will
disqualify the bag. Late bags are automatically disqualified, unless extenuating
circumstances are allowed
• The competition will cease at 1500 hours and competitors must sign off. Any
competitor not signing off by 1515 hours will be disqualified.
• Skippers are to ensure all crew are “Signed Off”.
9. WEIGH IN
Weigh-In will commence at 1600 hours at Hillarys Yacht Club. “All fish presented
for weigh-in must conform to current Department of Fisheries Regulations.” Any fish
presented in a rotten, badly deteriorated or generally unfit for consumption shall not be
eligible for weigh-in.
10. SAFETY
Safety equipment (as per Navigable Water Regulations) must be carried by all boats
and may be subject to inspection by the Department of Transport. For your own safety
please log on with Whitfords Sea Rescue (VJ6LQ) on VHF73 or 27.96Mhz Channel 90.
DON’T FORGET TO LOG OFF!!
11. COMPETITION POSTPONEMENT
The competition may be temporarily postponed due to unforeseen circumstances
on the day. If cancelled for the day, the competition may be run on the following
day and if cancelled again due to weather etc. the competition will be abandoned.
If competition is cancelled no monies will be refunded and major prizes will not be
awarded, however lucky angler prizes will be drawn from registered competitors who
have registered before the 26/04/2017. In this situation, competitors do not need to
be present at the draw to receive their prize.
12. PRIZE WINNERS
Prizes will be awarded to the angler who captures the heaviest fish in each category
of the competition species list. In the event of a tie, the prize will be shared.
All winning fish species will be retained by Hillarys Yacht Club for examination until
after presentation. No awards will be confirmed until announced at the presentation
of prizes.
A Junior cannot receive prize #15 if already received a prize listed #1 to #14.
The decision of the Disputes Committee shall be final for all awards made.
13. PRIZE PRESENTATION
All prizes will be presented at Hillarys Yacht Club on the tabulating of results at approx
1800 hours, or earlier if possible. Lucky Competitor prizes will only be awarded to
participants who have logged off, and who are attending the presentations.
14. DISPUTES & DISQUALIFICATIONS
Any dispute must be reported to the Field Day Officer no later than 10 minutes
after the completion of the weigh-in. Bag must remain unopened with zip tie seal
unbroken. The Disputes Committee shall adjudicate on all disputes within these rules
and its decision will be final. Any competitor found to have breached the rules shall be
liable to disqualification.
15. ALTERATION TO RULES
The controlling Committee shall have the power or vary the rules or arrangements to
contribute to the smooth running of the competition.
16. LIABILITIES
All competitors and persons taking part in the competition do so entirely at their
own risk. The Hillarys Yacht Club will not be held responsible for any loss or damage
sustained by any competitor or any other persons to their own persons and/or effects.
17. FEES
Adults are $25 for persons 16 years and over on 1 April 2017 and Junior are $15 for
persons 15 years and under on 1 April 2017.
