December is filled with holiday decorations, scents, and Christmas spirit. It is a season of love, compassion, giving, and receiving. It’s a time for us to pray for others before thinking of ourselves and be thankful for the blessings we have. This month gives us the opportunity to see family and friends, break bread, sing Christmas carols, and play in the snow. We cap off the month with a grand party which is meant to introduce the new year and once it’s all said and done… January, February, and March is all we get in return. That’s right folks, the gray suck of winter sets in with no more than the possibility of a downhill sled ride to keep our hopes up. If you have a birthday or anniversary in any of these months; feel privileged, you get one more celebratory day than the rest of us. If it wasn’t for the Super Bowl, I would probably go nuts by mid-February. You’re probably thinking to yourself, “Why is Mike being so negative?” It’s not as much negativity as it is a preemptive reality check into a possible future, so you can decide right now to have the best Christmas and New Year’s Eve Possible. Don’t stress about not having enough money to buy presents for everyone. If the people you are shopping for can’t appreciate a homemade candy cane stick man with a piece of ribbon for a scarf, then you need to ask yourself if they are really worth shopping for in the first place. Mary and Joseph didn’t have any money and they made the most memorable Christmas of all time; granted they had baby Jesus, but you get what I’m saying. For this Christmas and New Year, take a minute to think about the following three months and how the memory of this month’s events will carry you through till April. Now go out there and have yourself a merry BIG Christmas and a Happy (CRAZY) New Year! *Mike Till is not responsible for any craziness that may occur after reading this article. You are all grown adults. Don’t call me from jail saying that you were just doing what I told you to do. Out of the 23 wrestlers in the 165lbs weight class, he finished on top, scoring 30 points towards his teams 2nd place finish. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the rules of wrestling, there are a variety of ways to win involving decisions, technical falls, and of course the most difficult win, pinning your opponent. Hayden was the only Tiffin wrestler to win all five of his matches by pinning his opponent. His five wins are listed below, notice the final win for first place was against his teammate Richard Screptock. It goes without saying that the 2016 Tiffin Wrestling team is on track for a stellar season. Congratulations Hayden and the rest of the team! Ya... Beast Mode. The Kentucky Expo Center provides a great venue for The Recreational Vehicle Industry of America (RVIA) to host the many facets of the RV industry. Andrea and I met with many different people from all over America who were displaying their products, RVs and services. Although we were not able to make it to the first day of the event, I was told that Capt. “Sully” Sullenberger was a great key note speaker. He stated that after driving a Prevost for the first time, he felt that anyone driving an RV of that size should be required to have 1500 hours of training. The Helicopter below is from the parts manufacture Furrion. No, Steve & Patty didn’t crash the party, but I bet he could have made that landing at 70 MPH. In all, we had a great experience at the show and will hopefully have some new things to show you for 2017. Captain C.B. This is one of many newsletters that Michael has been featured in for various reasons. This time it is to spotlight his success as a Boy Scout. Michael’s Eagle Scout project was to organize, raise funds, and erect a new flag pole at the Plattsville Cemetary. With the help of a few fine human beings, he was able to raise the flag on November 20th, 2016. Great job Michael, all of your Poor Farmer’s Family is proud of you! Keep up the good work.
