Enrichment Provision – Summer 2017 ‘Children who participate in after school programmes can reap a host of positive benefits in a number of areas: academic, social/emotional, and health and well-being.’ st Little, Wimer, and Weiss, ‘After School Programmes in the 21 Century’, 2008 Dear parents, carers and students, KS4 students are encouraged to participate in the enrichment programme; however it is not a compulsory expectation, unless they are required to attend a subject intervention. Students are actively invited to contribute to the enrichment programme by becoming involved in leading or supporting staff in the delivery of activities. Students who elect to attend an enrichment and students that are required to attend a subject intervention are expected to attend the enrichment for the whole term and on the rare occasions of being absent from their enrichment, students must present an absence note (written by parent/carer) to the enrichment teacher prior to the day of enrichment. The Student Enrichment Option Selection Form must be returned by the deadline, Wednesday 15th March. Students will have opportunities to provide feedback and review activities at the end of each term. To monitor progress in the development of ‘BRIDGES’ skills, students will use the same activity tracking and review sheet throughout an academic year. Students’ feedback is also encouraged throughout the year and can be done using the suggestion box at the KS3 reception or through their form’s enrichment representative.
