Step on board Belmond Northern Belle, sister train to the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express and Belmond British Pullman, and you are back in the heyday
of great train travel.
Allow yourself to be whisked back to a more gracious age on our Spirit of Travel journey.
Enjoy a five-course lunch or dinner accompanied by champagne. As the train takes you on a tour of Britain's stunning countryside, strolling musicians
provide a lively soundtrack to your dining experience and a magician entertains you at your table.
Onboard the Belmond Northern Bell
Individually designed carriages, named for and inspired by British castles and stately homes, are furnished with specially commissioned designs, hand
decorated interiors, exclusive fabrics and fine worked panels. Every guest is warmly welcomed aboard by an attentive and dedicated crew.
Belmond Northern Belle comprises six dining carriages which seat 42 guests and one half carriage which seats 26. All contain tables of two and four,
with plenty of room for guests to move around and enjoy the train's sociable atmosphere.
Your table, set with a crisp white tablecloth, shining silverware and glittering crystal, sets the scene.
Our chefs prepare fine lunches and dinners from the local ingredients from the regions it travels through. Each meal is accompanied by the finest wines
and Champagnes, expertly selected by our sommelier.
Dress Code
Smart day wear is requested for our journeys. For Dinner departures and for social sporting events such as Royal Ascot, passengers may prefer to
wear more formal attire.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where do the trains depart from?
Your travel documentation including your full itinerary and confirmed timings will be sent to you five to seven days prior to departure. Please arrive 20
minutes before departure time.
Is there a dress code for the Northern Belle?
Smart day wear is appropriate for the journey. To ensure that the experience is enjoyed by all, please do not wear jeans, T-shirts or trainers. A jacket
and a tie for men is required at Royal Ascot and other race excursions. For outdoor events, please wear practical clothing, appropriate for the weather
conditions.
Do you cater for special diets?
If you have any special dietary requirements, make sure to advise us when booking and we will do our best to comply. We are, however, unable to
provide meals requiring strict religious observance in their preparation. Menus are subject to seasonal change.
Can I smoke on the train?
The train operates a no Smoking policy and out of consideration to others, please do not use mobile phones while seated in your carriage.
Can disabled passengers travel on the Northern Belle?
We regret that our carriages cannot be boarded in wheelchairs. However, our staff are available to assist any passengers to their seats and folding
wheelchairs can be stored in the vestibules. Some excursions are more suitable for disabled travellers than others. Please ask for details.

Conditions:
A non refundable 25% deposit is required 5 days after receiving your confirmation invoice, with the full balance payable 60 days prior to departure
date.
Minimum Passenger Requirements: All tours require a minimum passenger number to operate. Should this not be reached, we will offer possible
alternatives. If an alternative is not suitable, a refund may be offered. Rail Plus will not issue a refund unless and until Rail Plus receives the
refunded sum in full from the supplier.
