Introducing Our Amazing Member: John Justin
John Justin has been a credit union member for nearly 20 years;
joining St. Cloud City and County Employees Credit Union in
1998 and now a St. Cloud Federal Credit Union member. John has
been in public service for most of his life, believing in serving
his country and serving the public. He was in active service duty
for the Army Military Police for over 21 years before retiring.
He has been a Community Service Officer for the St. Cloud Police
Department for 19 years.
During his active service duty, John saw firsthand how people in
different countries lived and witnessed life that was impoverished
with corrupted governments. Those experiences helped him to see
that “people are all pretty much the same, striving for and hoping
to enjoy life.” It also helped him understand and appreciate how
fortunate he is to be a United States citizen, and inspired him to
continue his career of service in the St. Cloud area.
Crime Prevention Specialist; he does many public seminars of
various topics with many different organizations. One example of
that is time he spent working with the Somalia population years
ago. As a result of that, he identified a need to bridge relationships
so he created a police outreach initiative with the Somalia
population (understanding that in their homeland police were
mostly feared). Because of John’s efforts, the Elders of the Somalia
community made John an Elder himself, a rare privilege!
In John’s spare time he loves spending time with his wife, who
he says “is the best person I have ever known.” He also loves
spending time with his seven grandchildren, and enjoys fishing,
cooking, and house projects. John is grateful every day because
he has seen how so many other people live. In return, we are
grateful to have you serve our community John!

new vertical layout with the chip on top makes it easy to use!
To make a purchase at a
chip-enabled merchant (if you
are not sure, ask the employee):
By now you have probably heard about the EMV (Europay,
MasterCard and Visa) chip cards. They are a new form of
security replacing credit and debit cards to help increase
consumer security. This technology offers
enhanced security features with mini
computerized chips, which
create a unique identifier
to make card purchases
more secure.
• Insert your card into the bottom
of the terminal and leave it there
until you are prompted to remove it
• Follow the prompts
• Sign for your purchase (debit cards will require a PIN)
• Remove your card
To make a purchase at a merchant without
a chip-enabled terminal:
• Swipe your card as usual as they will still have a magnetic strip
• Follow the prompts
• Sign for your purchase
To make an online or phone purchase:
Complete transactions as you always have, nothing will change.
PLEASE NOTE:
All St. Cloud Federal Credit Union debit cards will be transitioned to these new cards in the fall,
watch for yours! Your PIN number will also need to be updated.

Cloud Times Media to launch a new community recognition
program: ChangeMakers: Giving back to those who make a
difference.

Central Minnesota Prep Sports Award Program
Congratulations to members Jeff and Deb, winners of our
“Trip for Two” drawing to anywhere in the world. We wish
them a safe and memorable trip!
This year we participated in a weekly recognition program to
recognize and award leading area high school athletes. The
program with St. Cloud Times Media concluded with an Awards
Ceremony with close to 1,000 people to announce annual winners.
Eric Decker was the keynote speaker and our very own President
and CEO, Jed A. Meyer, gave a motivating speech and helped
distribute the awards.
