Employment Titles Post Secondary Trades or Technology Student, or an Apprentice Type of Certification Program Description Ontario College Certificate This program is offered as a preparatory or foundation year for trades, technician and technology programs. It is designed for secondary school graduates or mature applicants who do not have the prerequisite courses required for admission. It is also designed for applicants who meet the admission requirements for a trades or technology program but would like to explore a variety of vocations prior to choosing a focused area of study, and at the same time improve their foundation skills in mathematics, physics, computers and English. As well, it provides an opportunity for career exploration for female applicants who wish to explore careers in trades and technology. Entrance Requirements Ontario Secondary School Diploma OR Mature Student Status (an applicant lacking the formal minimum admission requirements may be admitted through the mature student application process. Mature Student applicants may be referred to College Counseling for academic testing and a recommendation from the Counselor to the Registrar for consideration in their admission.
