Field events, workshops and presentations are free of charge and sponsored by the U.S. Fish
& Wildlife Service and Friends of Alaska National Wildlife Refuges, unless stated otherwise.
Even though they are “free,” some require you to pre-register. All participants
must pay the Festival Registration Fee.
A current bird sightings list will be posted at the Islands & Ocean Visitor Center and the
Kachemak Bay Birders website.
Dress in layers; bring mud boots and your binoculars or spotting scope. Please leave your
furry friends at home.
All boat tours leave on time. Please be at the slip, ramp or meeting location no later than 15
minutes prior to departure time. Refunds will not be issued if you are late for your boat.
Presentations and walks are included with your paid registration fee unless
otherwise noted. Please register for these events if it is requested - those with
tickets will be admitted first.
Participants will be asked to show their
2016 Festival Badge at each event.
All Festival Participants must pay a one-time
Registration Fee. The Primary Participant fee is
$20; additional family members, up to 4, are an
additional $5.
Families with more than 5 members should
purchase an additional Registration fee.
A $2.00 processing fee will be added to each
event ticket order to cover the credit card
processing- $2.00 will cover the whole order.
These fees help to cover general operating and
ticketing expenses of the Festival, and allow us to
continue to offer events and activities at no or low
cost. Registration also allows you to reserve a seat
to both “free” and fee-based events, when there is a
limit on participants.
Thank you for your support in helping the Festival to
remain a self-sustaining event, year after year.
Refund/Exchange Policy:
In an effort to be fair to both our participants
and event sponsors, here is our updated Refund
and Exchange policy:
No Refunds for Registration/Processing Fees
Refund/Exchange until April 13,
– full refund, minus 10 % fee
Refund/Exchange between April 14 & 27 – 50 % fee
