Park your car in the layby at the foot of the mountain. You’ll see the path heading
towards the peak. Follow this path to the top of the mountain.
At the top of the mountain you’ll see 3 Bronze Age Cairns that date from around
2000BC and were used for burial. The peak is called “Pen Tair Carn” which means
Peak of the 3 cairns!
Either continue across the plateau to the next group of cairns or return along the
same route to your car.
Call into the Gift Shop and the Cafe at Carreg Cennen for
some local crafts or for some great cawl and cheese.
Make sure you rent a torch to explore the castles cave.
“Pen Tair Carn” is a great place to admire views across
the whole of south Wales; even better is watching the
sunset from here, though best take a torch with you for
that.
