John R. Kuebler Award
The highest award Alpha Chi Sigma can bestow on one of its members is the John R. Kuebler Award.
This award is presented for outstanding service to the Fraternity and outstanding service to the profession or accomplishment in the
science of chemistry. Established in 1961, it honors John R. Kuebler, Epsilon 1910, who served Alpha Chi Sigma for 33 years as Grand
Recorder (1926 to 1959), 37 years as Grand Editor of The HEXAGON (1922 to 1959) and 10 years as Grand Historian (1957 to 1967).
The award, consisting of a hand-lettered scroll, was presented annually until 1978 and since then biennially in Conclave years. It is
customary to present the award at the Conclave banquet and for the recipient to deliver an award address.
