Thank you so much to all who auditioned for Bear Stage’s production of The Great Gatsby. You
all had wonderful auditions and did not make this an easy decision for myself or the panel! I’m
so proud of all of you who tried out (over 60!), but unfortunately, such a large number means I
was forced to make some drops. Something I hate doing.
!
Your audition panel spent the past few days discussing which of you would be cast, and honestly,
the list was constantly rearranging. You see, casting a show is not about who is the most talented
or the most experienced; it’s about who is the best choice for these specific parts, with these
other cast members, at this specific time. It’s like putting together a very complex puzzle.
!
For those of you who got a part, congratulations! You've got a lot of hard work ahead of you!
To those who did not, I am so sorry! Please know that I care about you and did everything
possible to be fair and objective in this process. You have no idea how difficult these decisions
were!
!
Attention, please mark your calendars for the following important dates:
T 11/30: Mandatory Cast Meeting: 3:00-4:00 pm at BHS, Drama Room 403
T 11/30: Mandatory Parent Meeting to cover expectations: 6-6:30 pm at BHS, Drama Room 403

Rehearsal information will be made available to the cast on Tuesday 12/1/15. FAILURE TO BE
PRESENT THESE DATES MAY RESULT IN YOUR BEING DROPPED FROM THE
SHOW. Should you wish to quit the production, contact Ms. Paxton immediately.

SCRIPT INFORMATION: If you are a principle character you are expected to retrieve your
script and begin the memorization process.
