Dear Charolais Friends:
After the first Northern Exposure sale in 1999 our motto,
“Your success... is our success!” came into being. It’s been
with us ever since. Not only, the success of the mostly young
breeder’s
that purchased heifers in that first sale and found success
in the show
ring, but the development and success of those young people
’s lives!
Many youngsters that bought nice heifers that first year have
gone on
to great endeavors in their lives and we have been proud
to have been
a small part of that; the Fischer boys from Minnesota, Marc
Hardy from
Iowa, B.J. Hansen from South Dakota, the Glassman boys
from Missouri,
Abby Raatz from Minnesota, Ryan Samsel from Indian, the
Wakefield
boys from Minnesota, Greg Holtz from Minnesota, the Miller
children from
North Dakota, Katie Carey from Georgia, Jeff Jaderborg from
Wisconsin,
Tessa Bobb from North Dakota, Kristen Greer from Texas,
Kim Coudron
from Minnesota, the Stalcup’s from Iowa, the Hecht boys
from Minnesota,
the Bina children from North Dakota and little Cassy Balvits
ch from Minnesota. They have become leaders in the AIJCA; becoming
officers and
speech contest winners; they have stood in the winners circle
numerous
times in shows; they have developed their own successful
herds of cattle,
excelled in college and in life!
Each and every year since 1999, they have kept coming to
evaluate
the Northern Exposure offering; selecting show heifers and
brood cow
prospects to begin their herds and take those first steps of
success in
agriculture life that will sustain them forever!

she was named the National Calf Champion in Louisville. She went on to many
more grand and reserve grand titles.
Tamara’s first set of calves sold in the 2010 Northern Exposure for $5,500 to J&A
Charolais in Wisconsin and $3,800 to McCall Charolais in Tennessee. She also had
the high-selling bull at the 2010 Iowa Beef Expo at $8,100 to Dennis Liegl.
What an exciting combination breeding her to Royal Dynasty. Reports from Brent

potential
This daughter of $60,000 Zsa Zsa burst onto the scene at the 2007 Junior National
where she won the fall calf division for Emily Moore.
#687 continued to impress us when she entered production, as we admire her
mass, power and udder quality.
We cannot help but get excited about her future as a producer of industry leading herd bulls when we look at her EPD percentiles. Her combination of top of
our breed rankings in Weaning, Yearling, Maternal, Scrotal and Carcass traits is
simply amazing.
The fact that she shares the same dam as Fire Water and Firemaker adds value.
On the female side, her first natural daughter was a sale topper at the M6 Ranch
Fall Sale.
This unique combination of production potential will contribute to a bright future.

A mating gone right!

Tygress combines the mass,
power and dimension of the National
onal Champion
Montezuma with the flawless profile and look
of her dam.
Her dam sold through the Northern Exposure
Sale as a four-month-old calf and went on to
Denver to create a stir in the Charolais aisles.
Many tried to buy her, some going away from
punches and slaps. Cassy always said no and
took her on to win her division at the 2008 AIJCA
Junior Nationals in Des Moines.
That decision still looks to be the right one after
evaluating the potential of this female and her
flushmates.

As we were selecting the purebred heifers to consign from Summit, this little doll kept
dancing around the pickup and drawing attention to herself. And it worked.
That got her a ticket into the big show.

This is one fancy and complete smoky show heifer.
The dam of this ET composite is a powerful Maine female sired by Cowan’s Ali and
shown by Tara Thorson, Glenville, Minn.
She had the following show winnings — Sioux Expire Stock Show Reserve Maine,
SDSU Block and Bridle Champion Maine, Minnesota Junior Spring Classic Supreme
Champion, Tri-State Stock Show Champion Maine and Reserve Overall, and to top
it all off the Minnesota State Fair 4-H Show Supreme Champion Heifer.
If you are looking for a smoky heifer with a ton of potential that is super sound, made
right and backed by a proven sire and dam, here she is.

A great market heifer prospect or a premier steer-producing momma.
Hammer Down is a bull promoted by Gregorys from Oklahoma. This is not his first
calf crop with us and he has not disappointed us.
We believe you will be impressed as well.

This smoky is one of our favorite ET calves out of our donor Momma Blue 166.
We believe she is our best smoky heifer prospect this year, and we had to talk our
daughter into giving her up!
Momma Blue has produced numerous calves selling to Caldwell and Bonham, as
well as leaving us some great females.

She will bring in the purple and then go on to bring you the “green.”
