Rich or poor?
We will begin by comparing and contrasting the lives of some
of today’s richest and poorest people, looking at food, housing,
ways of making a living, clothes, and entertainment.
We will then discover that throughout British and ancient
world history there is evidence of differences in the lifestyles
of rich and poor. We will find out about how society began to
develop into groups of people with their different skill levels,
leading to differences in status. We will discover how the types
of food, clothes, housing, jewellery, burial, transport,
entertainment differed as a result of status.
We will discover how some people have been controlled by
others and used as ‘slaves’.
We will find out about the social structure of emperor,
senator, citizens and slaves that developed during the some
Roman times.
Welcome back to the beginning of a new academic year!
This is a very important year in Year 6 full of hard work and rewards. There have been many exciting
changes since we have been away including a new classroom being built!
Reading records have been given out so please support your child with their daily reading by listening
to them read and signing / initialling it. Another way to help and support your child is to help them
practise their spellings which will be issued and assessed every Monday (Look, Cover, Say, Write,
Check)
PE is timetabled for Tuesday (provisionally) however a PE kit may be needed at other times of the
week.
Thank you for your continued support.
Year 6 teacher: Miss Tejeda

Service.
