MINUTES FOR THE City of Brookfield MUNICIPAL BOARD OF CANVASSERS
HELD ON APRIL 11, 2016, AT 9:00 A.M. IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF
CITY HALL, 2000 N. CALHOUN ROAD, BROOKFIELD, WISCONSIN

City Clerk Michaels called the meeting to order. All members were present.
Provisional Ballots
Three provisional ballots were received from Election Day in Wards 2 and 5. (see below)
Late Arriving Absentee Ballots & Provisional Ballots
62 late-arriving absentee ballots were received. The Board verified the Late Arriving Certificate of
Absentee Ballots prior to the envelope being opened by verifying the voter and witness signing the
certificate. Five ballots were rejected as the ballot was postmarked after Election Day, was lacking a
witness signature or required documentation wasn’t provided for a provisional ballot. The Board then
opened the envelope for each absentee and tallied the votes for each ward as indicated below on Tally
Sheet GAB-105. The ballots were sealed inside a ballot bag for each ward. An Amended Inspectors
Statement GAB-104 was prepared and signed for each ward. Consecutive voter numbers were given
based upon the last ticket number on the poll list on Election Day. Voter numbers were issued on the
Supplemental Absentee Ballot Log for Late Arriving Ballots GAB-123s.

The City Clerk prepared the Tabular Statements of Votes Cast, Statement of Tally of Late-Arriving
Absentee Ballots & Provisional Ballots, Statement of Municipal Board of Canvassers, and Reconciliation of
Late Arriving and Provisional Ballots (GAB-106 ap). The same documents were signed by the Board of
Canvassers.
The Board adjourned at 11:20 am.
