August 2016 NATIONAL ASSISTED LIVING WEEK “KEEP CONNECTED” LODGE LANE is gearing up for 2016 National Assisted Living Week. This week-long celebration was established by the National Center for Assisted Living in 1995. This dedicated week provides opportunities for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding communities to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors. Each year, the National Organization provides a theme to follow. Communities around the country offer a variety of events and activities to celebrate. The theme for 2016 is “Keep Connected.” Although technological innovations have paved the way for improvements in healthcare and played an integral part in our everyday lives, the theme “Keep Connected” begs us to recall a simpler time when relationships were established face-to-face and we awaited the arrival of the postman to send or receive communication from our distanced loved ones. National Assisted Living Week takes place Sunday, September 11th – Saturday, September 17th. Mark your calendars and look for the announcement of festivities coming soon.
