Issue 12(Week 4) Together We Achieve The Trip To Ngaut Ngaut Conservation Park Friday the 12th, Blanchetown Primary school went to Ngaut Ngaut Conservation Park, Ngaut Ngaut is near Nildottie. We learnt about the Nganguraku people, we discovered how they lived and the rules they had to obey, we were extremely lucky to have a traditional landowner show us the many significant locations. The first thing the students did was put on safety helmets, because we were going under the beautiful cliffs and rocks. We needed these safety helmets because sometimes there are falling rocks, snakes and cheeky cockatoos that like to flick rocks. We then went for a walk and the tour guide showed us some of the engravings in the rocks and told us what they meant. We were then shown the two camps, one of the camps was for the woman and their children and the second camp was for the men. She showed us the tools the men would use for hunting, after the lady got out all of the tools the Nganguraku people used, then she let us hold the tools and old fossils. We then went for a walk and looked at the trees that the Nganguraku people made canoes out of. Soon after we went up near the cliffs and the task was the student had to find their own fossil, once the students found their own fossil we went to Swan Reach playground, ate our lunch and had a play on the playground before heading back to school. Over all I think the students had lots of fun, I know I did!
